CALL FOR CANDIDATES AND ASSOCIATION NOMINATING PROCEDURES

ANNUAL MEETING
April 26, 2022
The Board of Directors are representatives who are elected by the community Association. It is the board’s responsibility to supervise the properties of the Association, to approve budgets, and in general to make the decisions which strive for the betterment of the Association and the community.
Lakeside Community Owners’ Association Annual Meeting will occur on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 3035 Maritime Drive, Elk Grove, CA 95758. The purpose of the Annual Meeting is to elect three positions to the Board of Directors. The term of a director is two (2) years.
Lakeside Community Owners’ Association governing documents state the following candidate qualifications must be met in order to serve as a member of the Board of Directors: (Per Civil Code Section 5105(e), any potential candidate shall not be disqualified from nomination if the potential candidate has not been provided the opportunity to engage in internal dispute resolution.)
A candidate shall be a Member of the Association at the time of nomination. If title is held by a legal entity that is not a natural person, the governing authority of that legal entity shall have the power to appoint a natural person in writing to be a Member for purposes of this subsection. The Association shall bear no liability for the veracity of such appointment.
Only Members who are current in the payment of regular or special assessments shall be eligible to be elected to and serve on the Board. This provision is applied throughout every Director’s term in office.
Only one (1) Owner of a particular Residence shall serve on the Board at any time.
If you are interested in serving as a Director of Lakeside Community Owners’ Association please complete the Candidacy Statement in one of the following three ways and submit it so that it is received by Friday, February 25, 2022 by 4:00 PM: No exceptions.
Complete the Candidacy Statement and return to Lakeside Community Owners’ Association c/o FirstService Residential, 3035 Maritime Drive, Elk Grove, CA 95758 ***Please note if you choose to handwrite your Statement, it will be sent to the Membership in handwritten form, it will not be typed prior to distribution.
Email your General Manager for an electronic copy of the Candidacy Statement.
Visit your Association website at Lakesidehoa.net to download an electronic copy of the Candidacy Statement. (see below)
Your name will be given to the Board of Directors who will be placing all candidacy statements from candidates who meet all candidacy qualifications with the voting materials which will be mailed to the membership with a ballot.
